Last Weekend...

Last weekend these cute girls came to visit me.

Kristen lives here and she came over Friday morning, we laid out, window shopped in Belmont Shores, dinner on 2nd Street

Averi and Joe got in Friday night from Phoenix, we windowed shopped at Abbot Kinney and Main in Venice, had lunch at a farm to table place on Abbot Kinney, got our toes done, watched fireworks on the water in Marina Del Ray.

Next day, brunch at the Starling Diner in Long Beach and a trip to Loehmanns. Then we ended the trip with a trip to the roof top to lay out.

This weekend, I have a (big) stack of work and finals next week. I miss those summers where I just ate Otter Pops and played at the pool.

What to wear?

The one part that sucks about living alone is not having a second opinion. Here's my question. I have a navy linen skirt with a pink spring cardigan. Can I put a sweater with linen and can I put these colors together?

Somebody help me!! Sorry for the picture quality. All of my pictures are limited to the camera on my computer!!

Also, what color shoes should I wear? I don't have any navy shoes.

Tomorrow...

...I am watching a trial of a father who impregnated his ten year old daughter. She already gave birth. I wasn't aware until today that ten year olds that are capable of giving birth.

I am dying to know what he looks like.

I always wonder if I could pick the person out on a street.

I think it is going to be a super cool trial to watch.

I need advice..

I am seeking some career advice and since way more people from law school read this blog than I realized, feel free to give advice.

I want to stay on with my job in the fall so I don't have to take any more classes.

The problem is I don't know when I should ask him to stay in the fall. Should I ask him now? Should I wait until the end? Should I try and get a spot at the Los Angeles Public Defenders Office so I get more connections? Or does it look better to stay at one place for a longer period time?

I really like the attorney I work for and I really like the office and I really want to stay there. I get along well and I think that is probably rare.

My other fear is that my resume is all criminal work and that's what I want to do but with the economy I don't know if I can get a job, and maybe I need to do some civil work as well.

I am so confused. Your thoughts?

My favorite bite of food.
tomato. avocado. mustard.
it makes for the perfect healthy lunch.

but I finish it with a 100 calorie dark chocolate bar from Trader Joes.

(i heart dark chocolate)

p.s lots of pictures from girls weekend to come soon

p.p.s sean is officially in france, I am getting the hang of things without him and getting into the groove but I have defiantly decided that I really like having him in the same country.

A day in the life of me.

I went to work to find out that the DA screwed us and gave us discovery a week before the trial. I can tell you all of the juicy details in two weeks when it is public info. However, the end result was me listening to 8 of the 15 hours of conversations (they have people that usually do this for us and I have a new appreciation for transcribers). The complaining witness spoke in baby talk the entire time and repeated herself in threes. It was painful, more than painful. I am lacking the word. There is nothing more annoying than listening to an adult talk in baby voice in squeaky tones.

I worked late again, so I snapped a picture. This is why I will never tell anyone I work with that I have a blog. This is what I looked at for eight plus hours today. Somehow by a miracle of baby Moses I am not grumpy.

I finally got settled at home and I made my very first dinner without Sean. I made veggie won tons in the microwave, but Sean, if you are reading this I used olive oil. I also ate apple slices, pre-sliced of course. Thank you Trader Joes, you rock my world.

Sean is loving Switzerland. I miss him so much, but he is having a wonderful time and eating a lot of cheese! Here is a picture of Sean in Switzerland. He is leaving for France soon! I think he starts school on Monday!

Weekend Adventures!

Saturday my parents came into town and we went to MOCA, but most of it was under construction and so we didn't get to see much. The photography collection was really good, but apparently they are known more for their openings and traveling exhibits (that part was closed). We went to the other MOCA in West Hollywood, which I thought was the Pacific Design Studio, but it was actually behind it and it is only one room full of cones. I love Modern Art so it was still pretty cool.

We went to dinner at the Bazaar again and it was really fun. There was some new stuff on the menu, and it was my parents first time going. The food was so good. They didn't have my freeze dried raspberries dipped in chocolate but they gave us some free chocolate dip (homemade) pop rocks that were pretty cool. I didn't take pictures but my parents have some on their camera that I can post later!

The next morning we went to brunch at the Starling Diner in Long Beach. It is literally in the middle of the neighborhood. They have great scones and good healthy options for breakfast at a reasonable price. This french toast is not one of the healthy options but it is really yummy. It is best to order one for the table and share it because it is so sweet!

Then we took a family trip to Loehmann's and I got a new pair of jeans that I absolutely love. I didn't have a pair of jeans that fit so I am so excited to be able to look like a normal person in jeans! Thanks Dad and Paula!
